Photo taken during magazine shoot for a feature story in Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords Jan 2005 issue, car was also featured on the cover of that issue
Another photo taken during magazine shoot on the runway in front of our home in Carefree, Arizona.
First burnout on maiden shake down of car at Speedworld in June 2004
Here D.R. is getting ready to make another license pass in the Frank Hawley School Car
Practice car on hoist was actively used to build seat time and test parts during new car construction, the shop is a section of aircarft hanger attached to runway home
Here is a variety of construction photos, from chassis fabrication, paint stages and reasembly.
Even though we didn't start with a body in white, we did strip the car down to bare subframe for a complete chassis build up and cage install
Once the chassis work was done then all unnecessary holes were filled in, bondo and sanded
Engine compartment and undercarriage was primed and prepped for new yellow paint
Acrylic Urethane was applied to engine compartment, undercarriage and roll cage
Reassembly involved rewiring and plumbling the entire car before installing the remaining body panels
Every body component had to be fitted and then removed for final paint
An effort was made to route as many of the wiring and plumbing outside of engine compartment.
The end result was to have a clean appearing engine compartment
Undercarriage was sanded, primed and painted to provide a clean working area
This photo was taken by professional photographer Ed Fox for a cover and four page spread in Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords feature story. This somewhat artsy photo was taken on the taxiway in front of our home during sundown the night before the maiden run of the car.
This photo was taken by Kurt Roessler a friend and part time crew member. The location was at the 2007 Street Car Super Nationals III. During that event we lost in the semi finals to Mike Demayo.
This shot was taken by my long, long time friend Tim Marshall, Tim and Dan Bott Sr. worked side by side over 40 years ago taking photos at Lions Drag Strip and other So Cal tracks. This final was the most hard fought win at the PSCA 2007 Edelbrock World Finals, 18 cars and 5 rounds of competition finished with a holeshot win in the finals against Jon Bundrant.
A proud moment, just took delivery of our new 2005 Ford F350 Dually Crewcab from Sanderson Ford in December of 2004. This truck during the 2005 and 2006 season pulled the trailer and crew over 50,000 miles numerous cross country trips in the Fun Ford Series and in 2007 and 2008 to PSCA races in the southwest. Shot taken in front of the Bott home based hanger..
An exciting day when we received our new electronic scales, this shot was taken in front of the race shop garage with our #1 crewman Jesse Allen under the car making adjustments to the chassis. Training and guidance of how to setup the chassis comes mainly from our friend Darryl Smith of Darryl Smith Race Cars and 9 Inch Warehouse both of Chandler, Arizona..
Dan Bott proudly standing with a newly delivered Kuntz engine, this was engine #2 from Kuntz. It was fondly nicknamed "Big Bott" because of its 468 cubic inch size. That is big cubes from a small block Ford. Kuntz said it was the biggest and baddest SBF he has ever built and it shook the dyno room like no other SBF.
During our Rookie season we had help from some of the best in SBF normally aspirated racing. This photo was taken in September of 2005 at Topeka, Kansas when the three time NMRA World Champion Charlie Booze assisted us in our tuning and training process. Charlie in the middle coached our team during three different events in 2005, we witnessed what it takes to win from a true champion.
2006 was a season that people started to realize our potential. During that season we went to nine final rounds winning three. Photo Magic took this shot at the FFW #2 April race. We gathered many such launch photos during the 2006 season.
Our last two Fun Ford races in 2006 gave use two of our three wins and netted us a great centerspread in the Fun Ford Weekends Tire Tracks magazine. Photo was taken by Keith Keplinger who also puts together the Tire Tracks publication.
