We went to the finals and finished with a runner-up at the 1st Annual Cajun FFW Nationals
Once again we went to the finals and finished with a runner-up at the 15th Annual Peach State FFW Nationals
Here is the final round action at Cordova June 4th. Yes we ended up with another runner-up, DR redlite the bulb giving the imediate win to Matt Jones. The weekend was  our first run in competition in the eight second range, we now have a new Kuntz motor that shows real promise. There is another two tenths of performance to be found. We are solidly in the number 2 points position in the FFW Street Bandit class 2005 points ranking.
In Richmond we qualified first on Friday with an 8.77 et and ended up fourth by the time qualifications were completed on Saturday. We found metal in the oil filter late Saturday and decided not to run on Sunday, less than five minutes after they ran the first round of eliminations the rains came and the race was called for the weekend, they plan on finishing the race at Bristol. We missed staying in the program by 5 minutes. Problem will be resolved and we run next at Norwalk.
We have some interesting engine misfortunes in New Hampshire, appartently we broke a lifter which broke the cam, however DR was quick to stop the motor before a total loss, Kuntz made a very quick turnaround repair and the engine and car was going back together for the Topeka race two weeks later.
In Phoenix the final race of the season saw a real upset, the undefeated Matt Jones was finally deafeated at the last race of the season in Phoenix. We had just repaired our engine from a spun main bearing and installed the motor only days before the Phoenix October 29-30th event so we had a much heavier that race oil in the engine. We ran consistantly at 8.84, 8.85 and 8.86, the was about a tenth off our pass but considered it fine given the conservative tune. Appartently Matt had a glitch in the first 60 ft and he played catch up at the way down the quarter mile. Our margin of victory was .067. It was a great way to finish the season and give us some momentum going into 2006. We were also handicapped with extra weight for most of the season, consistently weighing in 75 lbs over our minimum allowed and no ballast to move around.
We managed to get some good testing done in Topeka and Dallas before we spun a main bearing in qualifying. Charlie Booze was assisting us in New Hampshire and Topoka and we made a string of 8.70 passes in what was some decent heat. We consistently ran about a tenth off the low qualifier Matt Jones. Worked on chassis and was able to bring the 60 foot times down to a more consistent lower 1.20's. We were also handicapped with extra weight for most of the season, consistently weighing in 75 lbs over our minimum allowed and no ballast to move around. That problem will be remedied for next season with the car going back to Tom Yancer Race Cars for some much needed dieting and minor chassis modifications.
